Wedding Photography at Prestwold Hall // Katie & Chris

wedding-photography-at-prestwold-hall

What a dream Christopher and Katie’s wedding was for our Finishing Touch photographers. We first met the couple when they had an engagement shoot, which gave them a feel for being in front of the camera. Their wedding day itself was a very relaxed and a dead on time wedding, which is a rarity but we loved it after such a busy August. The couple married in a lovely civil wedding ceremony at Prestwold Hall  in Loughborough, a venue we are visiting more and more throughout the years. Katie got ready with her bridesmaids and mother over in Prestwold Hall’s bridal suite. She opted for a classic and elegant look with the talented, award winning Makeup Artist Rochelle O’Brien glamming her up.

Katie wanted to do a “First Look” with Chris, so we had a little fun teasing the couple by making them hold hands from behind a door, and then telling Chris to leave the room… Oh the suspense! It was all worth it though, as the big “first look” reveal lead to Chris getting teary at seeing his stunning Bride appear. After the first look photo session, we took the couple off to have further photographs around the beautiful grounds of the venue before any guests arrived. The interactions between the couple were so natural, they barely needed any direction.

Katie was given away by her lovely Father, while the wonderfully talented Bow Belles String Quartet played the perfect song for Katie to walk down the aisle to.

After the couple exchanged their vows and officially became Mr and Mrs, they headed to the venue’s gardens to mingle and indulge in celebratory drinks and canapoes. This gave our photographers the chance to gather all of the guests for a big group shot before capturing smaller groups with the newlyweds. Guests were later seated for the wedding breakfast, which was again very relaxed and intimate. While the DJ set up, guests had a chance to mingle again, and the bar officially opened. Evening guests arrived and got ready to put their best dance moves to the test. We captured a few more photographs with the couple before they opened the dance floor. The opted to not have a first dance for just the two of them, but instead wanted all of their loved ones to have their first celebratory dance as a group, which was a beautiful idea.

Thank you Katie and Christopher for having us be part of your special day. We had so much fun capturing your day.

Sikh Wedding Photography and Video at Shri Guru Ravidass // Kesh & Monica

Kesh and Monica married in a traditional Sikh wedding ceremony at the Guru Ravidass Gurdwara in Birmingham. The couple both got ready at their parents’ homes separately before heading to the Gurdwara. Kesh wore a traditional Punjabi Groom’s Sherwani outfit in gold with red details. Monica opted to wear a traditional red Punjabi Bridal outfit. We absolutely loved the co-ordination of all the bridesmaids and main ladies of Monica’s family, who all wore gold and pink Indian party outfits – Salwaar Kameezes. They looked like Monica’s Bridal Army!

Before heading to the wedding ceremony, Kesh stopped by Monica’s parents house to present Monica a Mangalsutra (a gold marriage necklace). The couple also exchanged Jaimalas (flower garlands necklace), before Kesh headed off to await his Bride at the Gurdwara.

Once the couple completed their 4 lavaans, which symbolises the completion of the marriage, they headed to their reception venue – Supreme Banqueting Suite in Birmingham. The couple had a newlyweds photoshoot around the small garden feature at the reception venue, before they heard off to get changed into their party outfits. This gave our team a chance to capture footage and photographs of guests mingling and of the decor in the reception venue. My word what a stunning cake! The couple opted for a 4 tier wedding cake, lavish black, gold and pink decor and Paul Nagra provided the music on the evening.

Before the Newlyweds made their grand entrance into the reception they had another quick photoshoot outside the venue in their new party outfits. Kesh looked suave in his 3 piece suit while his wonderful wife Monica stunned in a gold and red lengha outfit. The couple headed straight to the cake table once they entered their reception. After cutting the huge cake they took to the dance floor for their first dance as Husband and Wife. Once their first dance had finished, guests joined them on the dance floor to get the party started.

Towards the end of the party, the couple both played traditional wedding games before Monica made her get away back to her home in order for the Doli ceremony, where she says goodbye to her family as she departs for her new life with her new husband.  Kesh and Monica had a short trip down the motorway to Leicester, where Kesh lives and the night ended with the arrival of the newlyweds and more games.

Kesh and Monica, we had such a blast photographing your wedding and your two parties! Thank you so much for choosing The Finishing Touch to capture your special moments.

Wedding Photography and Video at Park Hall Ramada // Michelle and Gopi

Gopi and Michelle got married in a lovely civil ceremony at Ramada Parkhall Hotel followed by their reception at the same venue. While Gopi got ready at home surrounded by his loved ones, Michelle got ready in the bridal suite of the venue with her nearest and dearest. Michelle wore a lovely lacey white wedding dress while her bridesmaids wore long blush pink dresses.

While Michelle got ready, each of the bridesmaids received gifts and they returned the surprise by presenting Michelle with a little booklet of memories. The girls had all known each other from their days at school and were very close friends so this gift was both personal and meaningful to Michelle. How sweet!

Michelle made her grand entrance with her father into the Orangery of Ramada Park Hall and the wedding ceremony began. The couple shared their vows and officially became husband and wife. After the ceremony, all guests went out into the grounds of the venue for canapés and champagne. The venue has a lovely grand sweeping staircase where we grouped the guests for a big group portrait and confetti shot before taking photographs of smaller groups with the couple.

Gopi and Michelle had planned an outfit change so we managed to get some photographs of the couple before they headed up to their room to get changed. Once they got changed, they headed back downstairs to make their 2nd grand entrance of the day. Once Michelle and Gopi entered the Ballroom they cut their fabulous colourful cake designed to look like beautiful indian style cushions and then took to the dance floor for their first dance. The dance floor opened and our Newlyweds had their nearest and dearest join them on the dance floor to celebrate their beautiful day.

It was such a pleasure capturing your special moments, thank you for choosing us to be part of your big day.

Sikh Wedding Photography at Tower Ballroom// Kiran and Sam

tower-ball-wedding-photography

Sam and Kiran were hitched in a beautiful Sikh Ceremony on a sunny July day. They married at the Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Willenhall, surrounded by their loved ones.  In the morning, Kiran got ready at her family home in Wolverhampton, where the talented Hair and Makeup Artist Lavoi Deo glammed up our beautiful Bride for her wedding day. Kiran wore a traditional classic-red Indian Bridal outfit set with stunning Jimmy Choo wedding shoes. Once she was ready, she was chaperoned to the Gurdwara by Finishing Touch Cars.

Sam also got ready at his home in Sutton Coldfield with his main family surrounding him. He wore a striking gold and red Sherwani, which is a traditional Indian Groom’s wedding outfit. It was champagne gold in colour, with red accents and stunning embellishment. The couple looked like royalty together!

Once their religious Sikh wedding was complete, the couple changed parts of their outfits before heading to their Reception party, which was being held at The Tower Ballroom in Birmingham. We took Sam and Kiran for a quick outdoor photoshoot before they made their grand entrance to celebrate their marriage.

Traditionally, for the uninitiated, an Indian Bride leaves the party early to go home and await her new husband to pick her up and take her home. Before he is allowed to enter the Brides family home, he must barter at the door with the Brides sisters and female cousins. They tease him and he must offer them money in order to enter the family home. Sam was greeted by a “No entry without fee” barrier and an army of Kiran’s female family members. Once he was allowed in, the Doli ceremony began. This is where the bride emotionally says goodbye to her loved ones as she is taken from her home to start a new life as a married woman. The couple left to go to Sam’s family home, where they played a traditional game of “kangna” to welcome Kiran into their home.

The Finishing Touch team had great time capturing your Sikh wedding and reception party. We can’t thank you enough for choosing us to be part of your day. All the best Sam and Kiran! x

Wedding Photography at Ramada, Sutton Coldfield // Raj & Kiran

asian wedding photography, ramada sutton coldfield

Raj and Kiran tied the knot in a lovely Civil wedding ceremony at the The Ramada Hotel in Sutton Coldfield, followed by a crazy party at the same venue. Kiran opted to get ready at home surrounded by her nearest and dearest. She wore a beautiful white strapless wedding dresses with a sweetheart neckline, complete with a white and blue bouquet. In the morning, we were able to capture some bridal shots before Kiran headed downstairs to have photographs taken with her family and loved ones.

Raj also get ready at home with his family, before making his way to Kiran’s house to exchange the Jaimala, a flower garland. He wore a cadbury purple shirwani grooms outfit.  Once the garlands were exchanged, the couple made their way to their wedding ceremony in separate cars. We were left oggling at the Ferrari F1 Kiran had to escort her to the venue. Before the couple entered their wedding ceremony, we managed to sneak them away for a few couples photographs. We took them around the grounds of the hotel to capture some beautiful sunny Autumn photos. The colours of autumn added character to their photos.

The couple entered their wedding ceremony and began to exchange vows and rings.  Once the couple officially became Husband and Wife they headed outside to be greated by an explosion of confetti. The couple had the chance to mingle with guests while enjoying celebratory drinks, before they headed to their room to get changed. Kiran changed into a traditional Indian lengha in gold and red colours and had her overall hair and make-up transformed to a  glamorous evening look. Raj decided to wear a rather sophicticated 3 piece suit.

While the couple got changed, our team had the opportunity to capture guests mingling, some group shots and the stunning reception party decor. I don’t think we’ve seen a cake so tall like the one Kiran and Raj opted for. The guests were seated and the couple made their grand entrance into the venue. They had a sax player walk them down the red carpet to their cake table. Once the couple finally cut their cake they stepped onto the dance floor to have their first dance as newlyweds. This opened up the dance floor for all their friends and family to join them and the party well and truly started.

It was a wonderful, relaxed and seamless day! Thank you Raj and Kiran for choosing us to be part of your wedding day to capture your special moments
