Wedding Photography at Birmingham City Council House // Lee & Kam

Lee and Kam had a lovely civil ceremony at The Council House in Birmingham followed by an evening reception at the Saffron Centre  Kam got ready at her parents home while Lee got ready at the couples lovely home, both in Birmingham. Lee wore a tailored suit with a bespoke tag sewn into his inside pocket, which had his name and the date of his wedding written. We love personal touches!

Once Kam arrived, we managed to get a few images and footage of her entering the grand staircase before the ceremony began. A Pianist provided music while Kam and her lovely father made their way down the aisle. Once the wedding ceremony was complete guests headed to the back of the room where there was a display of cakes, snacks, teas and coffees. Guests mingled while the pianist continued to provide background music. We may have also helped ourselves to a cheeky coffee and cake.

Lee and Kam had booked a lovely bedroom and lounge suite at the Hyatt Hotel nearby the Council House. This gave us a chance to take some couple portrays of the newlyweds before their closest guests arrived for a meal. We hung around to capture some of the guests mingling before we left Kam, Lee and their guests to it.

As the reception party was in the evening, we had a chance to have a lengthy break and recharge ourselves as well as our batteries before we made or way to the Saffron Centre. The team split so that 2 members went to cover the venue decor and 2 members went over to Lee and Kam’s room at the Hyatt to capture images of them in their 2nd outfits.

The couple made their entrance into the reception hall, lead by a talented Saxophone player. The headed straight to the cake table on the dance floor to cut their wedding cake. Once they fed each other cake and got some photographs with their loved ones, they surprised all the guests with a choreographed ballroom-bhangra dance fusion. A perfect way to get the dance floor open for all their guests to join them in their celebrations.

Congratulations Lee and Kam. We are delighted to have been part of your wedding journey. Thank you for having us.

Wedding Photography at Grand Station Wolverhampton // Leanne & Kwok

Kwok and Leanne married at Grand Station Banqueting Suite in Wolverhampton. Leanne got ready at home and Kwok headed to the venue to finish off his last preparations, where two of our team were waiting to capture Kwok and his family arriving.

The couple had a civil ceremony followed by a hindu ceremony within Grand Central. For the civil ceremony, Leanne wore a lovely 2 piece outfit. The top was a silver and blush sequin blouse with a blush pink skirt to compliment the blush and white flowers and the bridesmaids’ pink blush dresses. Ravita Pannu created the 2 very different, beautiful makeup and hair looks.

After the civil ceremony the couple had a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, where Kwok’s family give the couple gifts and share herbal tea. Once the couple were officially married, they had a few family photographs outside the venue and a break where a small breakfast was served. This allowed Kwok and Leanne some time to get changed for the traditional Hindu wedding.

For the Hindu wedding, Leanne wore a stunning traditional indian wedding lengha, which was mainly red but full of vibrant blues and oranges. Kwok wore a traditional indian wedding sherwani in blues, yellows and gold detailing. Once the wedding finished, the couple and their guests head back to the foyer area where there was a drinks reception, canapés and a little Photo Booth set up. We had the opportunity to float around and capture guests mingling as well as take some shots of the decor and details within the reception hall.

The couple made their entrance straight to the cake table, where they had photographs with friends and family feeding them cake. Starters came out, which lead to the could sitting down for speeches. Both Kwok and his best man gave heartfelt and funny speeches. After speeches the couple stepped onto the dance floor to take their first dance as husband and wife. They danced to Coldplay’s Magic and the dance floor soon opened for ally he guests to join them.

Thank you for having us be part of your day Kwok and Leanne. We wish you a wonderful married life.

Hindu Wedding Photography at Loughborough Grammar School // Hiten & Pooja

Hiten and Pooja married in Spring 2017 in a grand Hindu Wedding at Loughborough Grammar School, which was very fitting for their love of Harry Potter!

When Pooja arrived to the venue we were able to sneak her away to capture some lovely bridal portraits. She wore a stunning traditional red and green bridal sari with matching accessories. Hiten and his guests arrived to the venue and the celebratory precession began with lots of dancing and singing along to dhol players. It was sure to be a lively and colourful wedding.

Hiten made his entrance into the venue to begin the first part of the ceremony. Pooja then made her entrance and walked down the aisle. The Hindu ceremony began, the couple made their vows and took their 7 steps into marriage.

Once the wedding ceremony had finished, guests made their way to grab some lunch while we took the couple away for some newly-wed portraits around the stunning grammar school grounds. It was a sunny afternoon and the blossom made for perfect Spring photographs. As the couple had planned for their reception party to be the following day, we had plenty of time to capture some beautiful footage and photographs.

Once Hiten and Pooja had a little time to unwind and have some lunch it was time to say goodbye to their guests in a traditional Vidaai ceremony. Guests lined up while the Bride and Groom did their rounds of bidding farewell.

The day, the couple headed to Domain Plaza in West Bromwich to celebrate their new married life. They had an awesome Marvel/Harry Potter novelty wedding cake and a huge “Mr & Mrs” light up display. Before the guests arrived we captured couple portraits around the inside of the venue. Pooja wore a navy blue indian party dress while Hiten opted for a navy suit to match his lovely wife. The guests entered the reception and the couple made their grand entrance to kick start their celebrations.  They evening included a dance act by 3 younger guests and a jazz musical act by Pooja’s brother’s band.

It was a fantastic lively party, we had so much fun capturing it. Congratulations once again Hiten and Pooja. Thank you for choosing the Finishing Touch to be part of your day!

Wedding Photography and Video at Stables Lodge // Fleur & Martin

Martin and Fleur tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at St Wystan’s Church in Repton, Derbyshire.  Fleur’s Mother owns the beautiful Stables Lodge set in a scenic countryside, where Fleur got ready in the morning with her adorable children. Her 4 year old daughter Freya was her Bridesmaid and her little boy Henry, who was 21 months old was the Pageboy. They looked incredibly cute in their little Bridesmaid and Pageboy outfits!

After their beautiful wedding ceremony the couple headed back to Stables Lodge for their reception, which was set up in a marquee on the grounds.  A Harpist entertained guests as they mingled and congratulated the newlyweds. Once the guests were seated, a Toastmaster announced the speeches, which were given by Fleur’s Brother, Oliver Martin’s Bestman, and Martin himself. Oh boy, were the speeches emotional. Tissues at the ready for team Finishing Touch!

Meals were presented after the speeches and once the guests had completed their meals, we took Fleur and Martin out to neighbouring fields for their couples photoshoot. We really liked the golden light during the evening and were surrounded by beautiful cornfields, which made for some beautiful couple’s portraits. Fleur and Martin were a dream to capture and the setting for the shoot was incredibly dreamy too!

After their photoshoot as a newly married couple, the couple went back into the marquee for their cake cutting and first dance. We were greeted by a huge “LOVE” sign, which created a beautiful light and background from the couple’s first dance. The dance floor officially opened and the party started to celebrate the marriage of Martin and Fleur.

We adored this beautiful wedding day and cannot thank Martin and Fleur enough for having us be part of their special day.

Sikh Wedding Photography and Video at Stratford Manor // Harjinder and Nav

Harjinder and Nav got married in a religious sikh wedding ceremony at Leamington Spa Gurdwara. The couple both get ready at their respective family homes with their loved ones. We were able to capture some family photographs while the couple were surrounded with their loved along with some portrait shots of both Bride and Groom in their homes.
It decided to rain in the morning, so once all the guests got to the Gurdwara, the milni (exchange of garlands) was held inside the foyer before Harjinder made his entrance into the wedding ceremony, later followed by our lovely bride Nav. The registry wedding took place first before the traditional sikh ceremony began. Once the 4 laavan were complete, guests had the opportunity to give a gift of money and congratulate the couple.  The couple then had a few portraits shot in the ceremony room before entering the langhar hall (food hall) to have a sit down meal, followed by the goodbye ceremony, where the brides family wishes her farewell before she starts her new married journey.

The couple had their reception party at Stratford Manor, in Leamington Spa. The sun finally came out so we were able to take the couple around the grounds to have a lovely couples photoshoot. Harjinder wore a 3 piece suit while Nav chose a lovely blue lengha with pink details for her 2nd outfit. As guests arrived and got seated, the couple made their grand entrance into the venue and headed for the cake table. The venue was decorated with light tones and peach details. Harjinder and Nav had an entourage of dancing loved ones follow them in during their grand entrance. This was going to be a pretty crazy party! Once the couple cut their cake, they took a breather by heading to their top-table and tucking into their starters.[/spoiler]

The newlyweds stepped onto the dance floor for their first dance to celebrate their new journey. The DJ invited everyone onto the dance floor to join the couple once the first dance had finished and the party well and truly began. To finish off the night we took the couple to have some final creative images taken. We had such a blast being part of your day Harjinder and Nav. Thank you for choosing us to capture your special moments.
