Botanical Gardens, Birmingham Wedding Photography & Video Highlights

At The Finishing Touch, we have fallen head over heels for the Birmingham Botanical Gardens as a premier wedding venue. Known as the green heart of Birmingham, this historic and biodiverse natural environment offers a captivating backdrop for capturing your special day in all its glory. Since its establishment in 1829, these Botanic Gardens have remained remarkably intact, adding a touch of timeless charm to every wedding we capture.

One of our favourite features of the Birmingham Botanical Gardens is the Garden Suite. As we enter through the magnificent Sub Tropical and Mediterranean glasshouses, we are greeted by this splendid space, perfect for larger events with a capacity of up to 500 guests. The generous layout and stunning surroundings make it an ideal choice for grand celebrations. Complete with a dance floor, stage, and in-built PA system, the Garden Suite effortlessly accommodates all forms of entertainment. To top it off, there’s a private bar lounge where guests can mingle and enjoy the drinks reception.

The Garden Suite, originally the Gardens’ nursery glasshouses, was converted in 1987 and inaugurated by HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother in 1988. From the elegant dining room, which can host up to 60 guests, we capture panoramic views of the Gardens, creating an atmosphere of tranquillity and warmth that adds an extra touch of magic to our wedding photography. The abundance of natural light, complemented by charming furniture and calming neutral decoration, sets the stage for intimate and romantic moments.

We are particularly smitten with the veranda and conservatory, which overlook the enchanting Japanese Gardens. This picturesque setting becomes the perfect spot for pre-dinner drinks, allowing us to capture the joy and excitement of your guests. As the celebration progresses, we move to the Cedar Room for the wedding breakfast, ensuring that no precious moment goes uncaptured. Additionally, the conservatory provides an intimate space for small wedding ceremonies of up to 25 people, radiating an intimate ambiance that is perfect for heartfelt exchanges of vows.

Beyond the Arid House, which houses a captivating cacti collection, lies the Terrace Suite—a true gem within the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. This exquisite venue can accommodate up to 180 guests and retains all the charm and grace of its former life as the Gardens’ ballroom. With traditional decoration, a sprung dance floor, and a stunning original domed ceiling, the Terrace Suite creates an elegant and unforgettable setting for both candid and posed wedding photography.

In conclusion, the Birmingham Botanical Gardens has captured our hearts as wedding photographers. Its rich history, biodiverse surroundings, and versatile event spaces make it an ideal choice for couples seeking a venue that exudes natural beauty and timeless elegance. Working in harmony with the Gardens’ captivating spaces, our wedding photography business aims to preserve every cherished memory, allowing you to relive the magic of your wedding day for years to come.
