Indian Wedding Photography at Pittville Pump Room

The Pittville Pump Room is a remarkable venue that sets the stage for breathtaking wedding photography backdrops. This Grade I listed building, designed by renowned architect John Forbes in the early 19th century, is steeped in history and offers a captivating blend of architectural beauty and natural surroundings.

Accommodating up to 240 guests for a seated dinner or 300 for a standing reception, The Pump Room provides an exquisite setting for capturing unforgettable wedding moments. Its grandeur and elegance make it a perfect choice for couples seeking a sophisticated backdrop for their special day.

Situated at the northern end of Pittville Lawn, The Pump Room boasts landscaped grounds that lead down to a picturesque lake. These beautiful surroundings create a tranquil and idyllic atmosphere, offering endless opportunities for capturing enchanting outdoor wedding photographs. From serene lakeside shots to romantic strolls through the manicured gardens, every image captured at Pittville Pumps is imbued with natural beauty and a sense of timeless charm.

Stepping inside the building, the interior of The Pump Room is equally breathtaking. The original marble and scagliola Pump, fed by electric pumping, stands as a remarkable centrepiece. The ballroom on the ground floor, adorned with Ionic columns, exudes an air of elegance and grace, providing an exquisite backdrop for capturing the couple’s first dance or the joyful celebrations of their guests.

The architectural splendour continues with a gallery under a dome, where music may be played, supported by further Ionic columns. These striking features create a sense of grandeur and sophistication, adding a touch of opulence to wedding photographs taken within The Pump Room. The upper floors, featuring a billiard room, library, and reading room, offer additional spaces for capturing intimate moments and adding variety to the wedding photography collection.

As a wedding photographer, I am inspired by the statues that grace the colonnade of The Pump Room. Created by the talented sculptor Lucius Gahagen in 1827, the statues of the goddess Hygieia, Aesculapius, and Hippocrates add a touch of classical elegance and symbolism to the venue. These statues can serve as beautiful backdrops or focal points for capturing unique and artistic wedding photographs.

In summary, The Pump Room at Pittville Pumps is a treasure trove for wedding photographers. Its Grade I listed status, breathtaking architecture, and stunning natural surroundings make it an exceptional choice for capturing the beauty and significance of a couple’s special day. From the majestic exterior and landscaped grounds to the elegant interiors and iconic statues, every element of The Pump Room provides a captivating backdrop for creating timeless and cherished wedding photographs.
